When building villas – we have abundantly utilized natural materials including the ‘vettu-kallu’ that is the natural laterite hardened clay-rock formations common to Kerala which is traditionally utilized for building homes, especially in Northern Kerala where this material is found in abundance. Using natural resources is one way to a sustainable future as the usage of cement and other artificial materials are reduced in the construction.

At Pazheri, we believe in finding and utilizing ground water through wells. These wells are natural springs and the water is rich in minerals. But the wells can be sustained only when water is preserved in large natural ponds nearby. Many of our projects preserve the ponds and the wells that were existing in the plot.

Trees are easy to cut but take a long time to grow and flourish. At Pazheri Properties, we preserve the maximum number of trees in a plot and try to build the homes around it. In other cases, we transplant a tree and in the dire circumstance that it has to be cut, we plant umpteen trees in its place. We believe in planting fruit trees that provide sustenance not just to humans, but also to birds, insects and animals.

Our tradition has given us the means and methods of building homes that are in harmony with nature.
